A barren land, myself I find
No tree or stump to rest my mind.
A distant world to wonder alone,
Has chosen my soul for limits unknown.
Each footstep taken is without meaning or rhyme,
For in this uncharted desert, exists no time.
An archer of perception, I cast into the sky
My minds curious arrow,
Into eternity it shall fly.
Piercing the night, the heavens were cut
Leaving a wound to never be shut.
The wound bled stars, the heavens wept
And showered my planet as I slept.
Light rained down, and opened my eyes,
Soaked in the blaze of a new sun's rise.
The blooming star glowed brighter as it climbed,
Through space it traveled, creating time.
From rise to set, the sun moved in an arc,
Like my cast arrow, light into dark.
I know not where it goes at night,
At the end of its journey, gone from sight.
Perhaps it wanders, just like me,
Drifting beyond the universe, a perpetual odyssey.
Perhaps it withers by each day's end,
And is reborn in light as a new sun ascends.
Perhaps I shall meet a similar fate,
The sun brought time, and the hour is late.
My only friend, I bade it farewell,
And as I did, my arrow fell.
It had returned to take my place.
To mark my final resting place.
My body gone, I cast into the sky,
A new journey awaits,
Into eternity I fly.
